So for the past 4 months, I have been using Moringa. I have been taking the pills and drinking the Mix with Acai. So far I have been able to scale down from 2 metformin pills a day to 1 500mg pills a day. The process has lead to me reading around the same numbers (140 average) daily. I know I know, Im not supposed to be taking myself off meds without the Doctor's approval. BUT he didnt listen when I told him about the spasms and sickness I got taking them. Then he tried to experiment with me with Januvia in addition to Metformin. That shit was $90/month, with insurance.

So I was forced to find alternate options and remedies that were natural. Of course, removing processed sugars and carbs like bread, pasta, and starches. Lord do you know how hard it is to give up Taco Tuesday and Pizza Fridays in my house? LOL, but anyway, I have find other ways to eat my favorite foods. Back to the topic of natural remedies with my T2 Diabetes. I have research that Moringa is used to treat ailments. Now, I have combined that with eating cinnamon, spinach, and eating a more leafy diet, to help with glucose levels. The crazy thing is that, with combined exercise, I have surprisingly kept my levels manageable without meds.

It began to make me wonder, is there something that these doctors are telling me. I dove into more research of the Moringa tree aka "The Tree of Life". Just like most trendy "new" superfoods, the health benefits of the moringa tree have been known in various cultures for hundreds of years, but have just recently found their way into mainstream wellness culture. According to Google Trends, interest in moringa has been growing steadily for the past five years. The fast-growing, drought-resistant tree is native to the sub-Himalayan areas of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan i sometimes referred to as the “drumstick tree.”

The moringa tree has various healing properties, health benefits and uses, and it is said to basically have the capabilities of curing all your ailments. The bark, sap, roots, leaves, seeds, and flowers of the moringa tree have all been traditionally used to treat a variety of ailments including: edema, swelling, stomach disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, epilepsy, thyroid disorder, anemia and sickle cell disease, and bacterial, fungal, viral, and parasitic infections. Moringa has also been linked to having positive effects on liver function, skin and hair, bone health, immunity, cardiovascular health, kidney function, eye health, and cancer prevention. The versatile plant has proven to be equally important as a food, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition has been an issue.
